Missed the clearly-in!

Whats up guys! Hope everyone's been relatively satisfied or glad with their ATAR's!

I was wondering, I obtained an ATAR of 82.00, but my first preference, Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance/Accounting) at Monash has a clearly-in requirement of 86.95. The course also says that last year 44.83% of enrolments were below the clearly-in.

My second preference is Bachelor of Business at Monash, which has a clearly in of 82.05.

Is it better to make  my 2nd preference first, or just leave it as it is? What sort of chances do I hold of being offered the Double major degree?

Cheers

There is absolutely no need to change preferences and honestly, beyond that, it'd be a really bad idea.

IF you dont meet the requirements for your first, they automatically move on to the second. If you put your #2 as first preference and get into it, the offer process stops, even if you could have made it into the other one.

For this reason, you always rank your preferences in...funnily enough preference order, how much you want them. It's a very bad idea to rank them on ATAR unless its very clear you wont make it in and you need the room, otherwise, preference order.
