Hey guys, so we're currently looking at the Ottawa Charter model and we have to fill out this table for homework.

The table has an example on the side and you have to select which action area it represents. I got a bit stuck on these two:

Which action area do these represent?

'Sunsmart advertising campaign'

'Using the media to raise awareness of men's health issues such as Movember.'

Much thanks,
Aura x

Well the SunSmart advertising campaign promotes good Sunsmart Behaviour (eg using sunscreen, hats when outside) via advertises. So I guess this represents the 'developing personal skills' as it kind of educates teens to undertake in these appropriate behaviours so they can avoid skin cancer and stuff. The campaign does other things too, you job to research what they are and what action areas they represent.

Using the media to raise awareness of men's health issues such as Movember represents the 'strengthens community action' area. As it urges the community to raise money for Movember. This money is then used to do research for a cure to certain health issues men suffer, like prostate cancer.

Hope that helps,

Rod
