Yeah I know people that have managed to do up to 6 subjects a semester. Ridiculous.

What days are those? Just post a pic of your timetable so far and it'll be easier :P

To not have any clashes, these are the hours you'll need free;
- 11am-12pm Tuesday to Friday
- 1pm-3:15pm Monday or 1pm-3:15pm Thursday or MAYBE 9am-11am Thursday (this one is probably taken, I can't check)

If you have a clash with a lecture, it won't really matter. I'm not sure if you can skip the tutorial/prac sessions. Anyway, I really think it's best if you just ask the science student centre tomorrow (make sure you get there early).

Great, thanks a lot.

I decided to do these:

Semester 1:
  • MAST10006
  • PHYC10001
  • BIOL10004
  • CHEM10003

Semester 2:
  • MAST10007
  • PHYC10002
  • BIOL10005
  • CHEM10004

After first year I will decide whether I want to continue in the medicine/biology/chemistry direction or the maths/physics direction.
I might switch CHEM10004 with ECON10004 and do CHEM10004 in the summer.
By the way, is there any disadvantage in doing subjects over the summer other than the obvious disadvantage of not getting a break? Are there less lectures or anything like that in the summer?

Disadvantages? Just heaps of content covered in 1 day.Same amount of work put in, just a much more condensed time frame. But considering it's only 1 summer subject, it should be manageable.
Advantages? -1 subject in year 2 ;)
BSc (2015), MD1 (2016)

Summer subjects are incredibly intense, just bear that in mind. You cover a hell of a lot of content in the space of a short time, so naturally, grades typically fall.

Summer courses usually cover less content anyway, so you gain some advantage there. Derivatives for example, covered at least 2 less topics which made the course easier (by a big margin). Its a pity that it isnt offered in summer anymore (summer lecturer quit teaching the subject); as it was an easy h1 for a subject that is a nightmare during the normal semester.

for every summer subject i've done the lecturer always states that people in summer do better than people in the normal semester. i don't see any disadvantage in that.

There's normally a higher standard of student in summer though, accounting for that (though perhaps not completely)

I did two summer subjects one 6week one 2week intensive. I found learning the content much easier and wish all subjects were as fast paced... Though in saying that doing 4 subjects double speed would definitely not end well

But overrall i feel i performed better in my summer subjects than my regular ones mainly because normal semester is a little too slow and i get bored and distracted easily because i dont find it as demanding

Having done a 2-week summer intensive just now (exam tomorrow! D:) and finishing up at about 130 pages of hand-written notes, I feel a little overwhelmed. Definitely not any easier than the full-sized first-year biology units. It also feels weird taking a summer class because everyone at college is just settling in and I'm freaking out internally about plants of Victoria.
