What's the interview for? If there already is the test?

The interview is basically what you have to do after they consider your umat. So if they think your Umat is to a good enough level, they will invite you to a multi mini interview where you spend a certain amount of time talking to the assessors on why you want to do medicine, what you hope to achieve etc... Along with scenarios of actual decisions youll have to make when you become a doctor. Its basically a test to see why you'll be a good candidate for the undergraduate med course at monash, however if you dont meet their expectations but have done really well on the Umat, you will most likely not get in. Its always good atar good umat and good interview that will likely get you in, and even then its very competitive and so you really need to stand out from the rest of the competition.

I would say find out about what the interview is like after you do UMAT and get the result back :P

Spoiler
There are two types of interview: Panel and MMI. Panel is the one where you have one/two interviewers asking you questions like why do you want to study medicine, what are your strengths blah blah blah (straightforward shit) MMI is one where there are 8-9 stations (so 8-9 interviewers) and in each station you are given a scenario and you need to talk about it (some universities will give you a set of questions to answer, such as Monash). For more information, you can do a search on ATARNOTES because I am sure there are posts after posts about medical school interviews ;) To be honest, don't stress about the interview because there is a chance you don't do well in your UMAT (not trying to discourage you, I am just stating the fact that UMAT is a hard/weird test and many people cannot get the score that they need)
