Hi,

This year, I'm doing Methods 3/4 as a Year 11 student.
We have 5 SACs this year, we've done 3 of them already.
I didn't get good marks for them. (our teachers only tell us the percentage score we got, not the final grade that gets sent to VCAA as they possibly change it)
Being Asian, getting below 30-35 is just a no-no :p

Here are my estimated grades
SAC 1: B
SAC 2: C
SAC 3: E (I thought this was low enough to be a UG seeing as I had a low percentage, but my teacher said I had passed so yeah. It wasn't even a hard SAC and I doubt it'd get scaled much seeing as my friend I believe will got an A or A+)
My cohort is really large and fairly strong btw

If I do well in the last two SACs and study hard for the exams, would I be able to get a semi-decent study score or not? :(

Thanks in advance :D

Hi there,

I can understand how you feel at the moment, as I did Methods in year 11 as well. Don't feel too demotivated or hopeless right now, because you still have time for improvement and to redeem yourself. Think of SACs as a way to find your weaknesses, and to improve on them. If you study really, really hard for the next two SACs (as in, to the extent where you find yourself feeling really ready for your SACs), I am sure you will get pretty decent and if not, amazing SAC scores. Start practice exams as early as possible, and do as many as you can and re-do questions that you get wrong etc. Study hard so that at the end of the school year when you have finished your Methods exams, you feel that you have done as much as possible, and that you have put in as much effort as you could. Don't let your first three SACs let you down, but seriously improve on them, and I am sure you can get 35+. Also, keep in mind that your SACs at the end of the year can be scaled up or down in accordance to how strong your cohort is, and in Methods, exams are of primary importance.  So keep studying and work hard! I also find that maths is amazing in the sense that if you put in a lot of effort and practice into it, results definitely show. So good luck for the rest of the year  :) (Y)
