TSFX English Masterclasses worth it?

Hey,
Tossing up between attending the masterclasses or not,
Have heard varied feedback regarding the actual classes and the notes
Are the classes specific to the texts and context i.e ( identity and belonging) we study at school or is it more generic?
so if anyone would like to share pros/cons or any experiences that would be great.

Thanks

TSFX is shit. Full stop.

I have been there, done that. They are so money-orientated - lecturers (yes, it's a lecture - you get very little individual attention or help)  leave on the dot. Heck, I lost one set of notes and had to pay $20 just to get another copy. They said it was due to printing costs but when I said I could photocopy it myself they wouldn't allow it.

Also, to make it worse - TSFX english Masterclasses will in no way help you because a) they're not text specific (even if they were Context specific, it would be too superficial to help) b) you don't get one-on-one feedback, especially if you are attending once a week.

Damn sounds bad,
Are the notes worth buying if lets say i don't attend the lectures?
I'm guessing a private tutor would be better than tsfx then?

A private tutor is definitely preferable if you are willing to pay.

Otherwise, a decent teacher who's willing to mark your essays and give good feedback would suffice!

My experience with TSFX English is as above, stay well clear. Granted I only went to some summer lecture, but that was enough. If I really needed some help in English, private tutoring would be my preference.

It's much better for Sciences, but again, I can't speak for masterclasses.
