English 3/4 Study Design 2016?

Hi Everyone :)

So today I was looking through the VCAA website for information of
the 2016 study design for 3/4 but for some reason couldn't find anything on the
website. VCAA have old study design 2008-2015 (for 3/4) as well as the new
updated study design for 2017 onwards, strangely leaving out 2016.... Does anyone
know what's happening with the English study design next year?

Thanks!

Yeah, so, VCAA are kind of bad with clear and direct communication...

Simply put:
If you are in Year 12 in 2016 then you will be doing the current study design (ie. Language Analysis, Text Response, Context)

But if you are in Year 11 in 2016 then you will be doing Units 1 and 2 of the new study design (including but not limited to some mandatory creative pieces, a massively weighted oral, and not Context)

So the current Year 10s will go on to be the first cohort doing the new study design's first Unit 3 and 4 exam at the end of 2017.

The study design was meant to conclude with last year's cohort, then it got extended to 2015, so until recently I figured next year would be when the new exams started, but apparently when VCAA say the study design ends in 2015 what they actually mean is that the new one won't fully come into affect until 2017  ::)

2016 will be the cross-over year where the Year 12s and Year 11s will essentially be doing a separate course (though it's not vastly different; L.A. is unchanged, most of Text Response is the same, though they haven't yet released the text lists for 2017 so I'm not sure if they'll stick with the current line-up) but I'm hoping by the end of this year there'll be more resources cropping up that will explain some of the new bits and pieces.

But you don't have to worry, Musmoros! You'll be doing the current stuff, and what's more, you'll have 8 years worth of practice material to use :)
Hope that clears things up!
