When I sketch a graph I usually draw the arrow heads on the x and y axis but APPARENTLY you will lose will marks if you don't draw the the arrow heads on all 4 ends. Is this true? And can a teacher mark you down if you only draw arrow heads on the x and y axis???
i think conventionally you should only put an arrow on the positive direction but many teachers (including mine from high-school) teach with arrows on all ends because the axes go on infinitely.
if your teachers are marking your work (so in every situation except year 12 exams) then they get to decide what to take off marks for, and you should ask them directly if they will take marks off for this.
In the end of year exam usually if you have to draw a graph a set of axes is provided for you so you don't need to worry about it
