Post grad questions!

Two questions, one for me and one for my friend.

1. My current major doesn't have the option of going into Honours, but I am interested in doing a research topic. What other pathways are there for me? (Urban Design and Planning)

2. (for a friend) - with a rural Graduate Access Melbourne statement, how likely is it that you can get into Physio at Melbourne with a 66 WAM?

For (1), your options are either doing honours at another university, or doing a Masters degree. Watch out because some of the post-Melbourne-model Masters courses at Melbourne are watered down and relatively worthless (beware of any business-focussed degrees), while others are like extended honours courses with larger research projects and more advanced coursework (e.g. the Master of Science).

Your best bet is to talk to the department that runs your course and subject coordinators for subjects in the area you want to do research in.
BSc (Pure Mathematics) @ UWA, '04-'09
Postgraduate Diploma in Science (Mathematics and Statistics) @ UniMelb, '14
Master of Science (Statistics and Stochastic Processes) @ UniMelb, '15-'16

You might be able to find related courses or projects in other departments, even if it's not directly part of your major.

It's not uncommon for people to do honours in a different department.
BSc (Hons) 2015 Melbourne

PhD 2016-??? Melbourne
