Can anyone who has undertaken this subject help answer these questions for me
1. How difficult is the subject (overall, assessment, exam, etc)?
2. What are the assessments like, what do they actually involve?
3. Would you recommend this subject and would I be missing out on much if I didn't undertake it?

Thanks

I also got offered a position in this subject. In the email it sounds...kind of crappy tbh lol.

I'd also love some information from someone who has taken it :D

Incredible subject. You learn the roots of economics in many ways by being exposed to the earliest and most basic macroeconomic models. Furthermore you get a more pluralist view of economics, as you learn from a variety of economic schools of though. The professor is incredible also, and takes the time to know you personally.

In terms of scoring, almost everyone in my cohort got 80+ with the majority probably getting 90+. You receive a lot of help for the assignments and the exam is quite straightforward.

I strongly recommend this subject for the learning experience. Also, since you'll be in a class of 20ish with other really talented students you'll make some great friends!

To answer your questions:

2. You have two group assignments, which make you tackle some complex economic ideas, but for each on you have a consultation session with the lecturer and he assists you on all the problems.

3. You would not be missing out on any core knowledge if you didn't take it, but it has significant overlap with intro macro so it will assist you for that subject.

Thanks for the reply cback!

I just had one more specific question regarding assessments which the handbook says consists of 'seminar presentations'.
If you had to complete this, can you explain to me what it was?
