Hey guys, I just joined this page but I've been following it for quiet a while now. Anyway, this year I'm doing Studio Arts unit 3&4 and I reckon I'm doing well, but my only concern is how do i edit my exploration proposal? My teacher said you just write on it to adjust it, but that being said, do i like, extend arrows from words and write on it or do i do dot points or something of that sort? I really wanna score top marks for this subject so any help would be really nice. thank you!
Disclaimer: I did Art, not Studio Art - they're virtually the same subject but the terminology differs - so we didn't have "exploration proposals" but I'm assuming these are just starting points for your chosen theme/idea. If you have to write it as a quasi-essay or a few paragraphs, then your teacher might want you to add more details (ie. talk in depth about the kinds of mediums you intend to use in trials, or the different facets of your theme that interest you.) Or, if it's a more visual thing, then perhaps just incorporate more details as appropriate.
The Study Design mentions that a combination of written prose (ie. paragraphs/dot point explanations)
and visual features (eg. exploratory drawings, preliminary sketches, mindmaps, etc.) are more typical for high-range marks, so you'll probably want to do a bit of both.
Random thing I had from ages ago:
Respond to the following areas with reference to visual information:
1. Discussion of focus and subject matter to be explored. Refer to the topic, theme, concept and content. Include a digital mind map or brainstorm here.
2. Discussion of the conceptual possibilities and ideas. Refer to narrative structure behind the idea for the work and discuss why this is important for you and what it will communicate through exhibition to an audience. How will you treat this concept differently to all other students working with this idea?
3. Description of the art form to be explored. How are you planning to use the art form to make your work?
4. Discuss sources of inspiration and how these relate to what you consider great art to be? Who inspires you? What makes their work so inspiring? How will you integrate this inspiration into your own work?
5. Discuss how you will use the aesthetic qualities of the elements and principles of art, signs and symbols in your work. Don’t discuss every element, principle, sign or symbol – only the important and significant ones.
6. What materials and techniques will you explore? Why have these been selected? Have you used these materials and techniques before? What has been successful for you in the past and how will this success help your work in this year?
^If there are any elements here that you haven't yet addressed, they might make good additions to your current proposal

Good luck!
