I don't have a problem with what you said but you can't make a comparison between another genre of music and rap when you use Anaconda by Nicki Minaj as the example for rap...most wouldn't consider her a 'rapper' 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

hahahaha yeah maybe But in my view she still is a rapper! You (and I) may not consider her a good rapper. But she is a rapper nonetheless. "Rap - a type of popular music of US black origin in which words are recited rapidly and rhythmically over an instrumental backing." Like, she fits that definition, even if it is borderline sacrilegious to put 'Stupid Hoe' and 'Nothin' But a G Thang' in the same category, in the same way that putting Rihanna and Janelle Monae together seems absurd, even though technically they are both often working within the same genre - R&B.

This is when you start getting into dodgy territory - you can't discount the existence of the "bad" to assert the significance of the "good". All genres of music have their stars, and their... not stars. That is because, in my opinion, it's not about the genre, but the artists themselves

I wouldn't say rap's the best genre; but after going from EDM to Soul to Pop to House to RnB, i can definitely say that Rap is one of the most eclectic, diverse and ever-changing categories of music. Common rap nowadays, IMO, has transitioned from slow, lyricism eg Nas,Biggie,Tupac, Older Jay Z albums, to an aggressive, active, 'silly' and even nonsensical (eg Mumble Rap), which isn't necessarily the worst. I can't think of a single genre of music that has made me feel "turnt', happy,sad,angry,tired etc. like rap has, and the beat selection nowadays is so brilliant, you here exotic flutes, trumpets, and samples from old,old,old hidden songs, heck, some of drake's songs have sampled video game music and even arbitrary things like the "Wii Home Screen Music" (even tho it actually wasn't, Hotline Bling's producers admitted to influence from such arbitrary things)

overall, rap has definitely got me "feeling some way" [a lyric from a song i really love, Nav ft The Weeknd-Some Way]
