Pen or Pencil?

Hello everyone :)

For the written exam, will it be unbearably annoying for the examiners to mark work written in pencil? When writing in German, I almost always notice grammatical errors that will affect the rest of my sentence; meaning that I have to cross out what I've already done. In turn, my page can be awfully difficult to navigate when done in pen.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I did my German exam in pen, but I'm used to writing in pen (for everything except like maths).
Our teacher also recommended us to write in pen in case like the pencil markings sorta rub off?

It is up to you though. If you know you make quite a few errors you could use pencil, because lots of pen crossing outs don't look too good. But sometimes I find it difficult to rub out stuff you've written in pencil cos you write so hard, so up to you :)

Good luck for your exam x

I'm pretty sure I wrote in pen for my French exam, but I had been using pen all year so was used to it.

I definitely used pencil to do the listening though, and scribbled down answers in the column then wrote the full answer in pen on the lines.

To avoid your scribbling out getting too messy, just put a line or two through the word you're crossing out and don't scribble all over it :)
I think from memory the lines for the writing task are pretty far apart, too, so it shouldn't look too messy if you've had to scribble stuff out? Plus, even if it does look a bit messy - you're being marked on your content, not how neat you can write ;) as long as they can understand what you're saying, and you're writing clear enough for accents above letters and such to be clear, then you're all good!

I know someone who wrote their writing task in pencil and then went back and wrote over it in pen, so I guess you could do that, but I think you could be spending your time doing better things!

All the best! :D
