How do I Studying for Revs and Whatnot?

Hey everyone,
After finishing our first Rev (Russian) our class is ready to move onto the Chinese as the mid-year break approaches.
i'm thinking now that i'm going to really start properly preparing for the exam now that i have atleats done one Rev.
What i'd like to know is how exactly does one study for Revs.

At the moment i've been a bit lazy, only compiling summaries so often, and i really dropped off recently as i had a biol mid-year
So i've decided im going to knuckledown now, but i dont really know what to do. Should i ask my teacher for some practice graphics/documents/essays? or should i just summarise Russia, and try and get ahead with China. And if so, how should i go about doing this.

What i'm basically asking is how should i start revising/studying for the exam;
And how can i get ahead with China/consolidate Russia over the holidays

Do practice questions, and make notes for Russia.  I basically just made a word document full of dates, events, significance of events, and what different historians said about certain events. 

Then I used to carry this stack of dates and stuff around with me and stare at them and try to commit them to memory.

Where do you thnk I can get my hands on some practice short answer type questions for the Russian rev. I use Malone, and that might have a few, but can you get sort of practice exams for revs. I've never come across any?

I'll probe ask my teacher as well.

Also in addition to the russian rev, how do you thnk I can get ahead on china. Or is revs just one of those content heavy subjects that requires a teacher?

ready to start russian now... think it will be much easier

There are practice papers from commercial companies such as HTAV, and others that I don't remember!  Does your library have Revs study guides such as checkpoints, or Insight notes or something?  They usually have exam-type questions that you can try.

Revs is really just a content-heavy subject that requires lots of memorising.  Try to get ahead by reading the textbook or something?  Read the introductory chapters to get a feel of what was happening at the time, and maybe just read ahead so you know what's going on and what happens in class makes more sense.

Yeah Russian rev is a hundred times easier than the French rev.

k peoples. im ready to get cracking on some revision notes for my holiday homework for russian rev.
but i was also wondering if anyone has some relevant essay topics in relation to the russian rev. i asked my teacher if i could do some extra essays over the holidays, she said yes, but told me to just get topics off vcaa (i'm guessing she means past exams); and i dont really want to do them, as i would rather save those essays for when im actually going to be doing practice exams in the lead up to the real exam

so therefore i was just wondering if anyone had any practice exam style questions..?

it helps much better if u make ur own notes, just rote learning someone else's notes is not gona work and will make little sense, try compiling ur own timelines using both polky's and external sources - thats what i did n it most certainly is working
