yeah. i did the same..... hope its right...
the more i think about MC and the whole exam the worse i feel  :-\

Yeah I did the stalemate too. It sounded like it was talking about 'making history' at the start, but the ending line made me change my mind to choose the stalemate option

Okay so I think the MC was really trippy. By far even more trippy than my trial, which was really bad (like the teachers were arguing over it, students arguing with students, teachers arguing with students). Like no-one could really agree on proper answers. Never screwed up an MC until now (very likely)

Apart from that I feel like my questions were really suited to my study, but like I completely went on a tangent and screwed up. I reckon I made up too much BS for Part III as well, I feel like two of my key ideas/personalities are quite similar and I didnt go in detail about the other one. The curveball really got me for that. And I got a headache in the last 1.5 hours so I just went on autopilot for both essays, dunno how that'll go.

Hopefully all goes well, and for the rest of you guys as well!  ;D

What did everyone put for source C and D?

I think the options for source C were trench raids, attrition, changing tactics, and can't remember the last one. Source D was the one talking about limited German troops or something along those lines.

I think for C I chose attrition. What about you?

I put C too! I know a few people who put changing tactics and it kind of made me worried. However I thought attrition suited the over message of the source.

Congratulations guys! You're done! You did it!

Whether you've completed 2, 4, or even 5 units worth of history exams over the past 7 days, you should all be immensely proud of yourselves. Modern is a tricky, pedantic subject, that likes to throw the odd curve ball now and then, but it sounds like you all dealt with it very well, even if you don't think so personally :) Just remember that whatever happens, your life isn't going to be defined by the mark you received in this exam :)

Again, a massive congratulations to all of you, and good luck for the rest of your exams (if you haven't finished already!), I'm sure you'll smash them. I'm super proud of every single one of you, whether you came to the lectures, used the notes, used the forums, all three or none at all <3

I personally put trench raid for Source D/the autobiography by Hindenberg?? Like, my reasoning was that because it was the Spring Offensive, that meant that the war of attrition was beginning to crack and iirc Ludendorff said Germany couldnt hold out any longer in a war of attrition? Idk, i actually found the MC really reasonable and easy! The Russia National question was veryyy nice, since the Civil War is pretty much the question driven into everyone's heads from the start, so I found it easy to write 8 pages on it.

Cold War though i sorta froze since I was a little miffed that they asked the questions on the dot points i was iffiest with haha. Where was my fluffing Gorby D: I ended up with 7 pages tho so im happy with that. Wish I could have my trials back though :( CSSA treatedme so well, it doesn't deserve the awful reputation.

Am I the only one that chose the Germany Army question and disagreed with it? It said to what extent so I talked about the army for a bit but argued it was actually the Great Depression + inherent weaknesses + Rise of the Nazis that caused the collapse of Weimar....

Ahh why do I feel like I messed up...

Nooo don't worry about it! Heaps of my friends said that too!

I think you could probably take any side, and as long as you stuck to your argument that's what matters! Seriously, don't worry- I know heaps of people who said to a lesser extent too and that's fine.

Ok so Section 1 was rough. I didn't understand the cartoon source and I found it difficult to relate that picture of the soldiers sitting a shell hole and the question on trench warfare- I think I talked about the shell hole. I'm hoping that I added enough detail in Section 1.

Section 2 was alright- my teacher told us to never do an army question for Germany because there's not enough information so I did the question on propaganda, terror and repression, which was actually the exact same question I did in Trials, just slightly different because the question here focused on changing German society.

Section 3 was a nightmare. I've never seen a question on three key ideas. I know they tend to ask about three key events though. I talked about Leni's values that shaped her life (her struggles, motivation and desire to capture the aesthetic). As for Part B, again, difficult. I partially agreed with the statement but my thesis was how Leni's weaknesses shaped her positive and negative contributions rather than overshadowing her positive contributions and talked about her three main films: The Blue Light, Triumph of the Will and Olympia.

Section 4 was alright. The questions were the exact same questions as my Trial ones (if my teacher didn't give us a replacement question). I chose the question on impacts on civilians. I talked about the impacts of the close proximity of the war to British and Soviet civilians (in 2 separate paragraphs) for social and the impact of rationing on British civilians and the impact of industry enterprises on Soviet civilians- both for economic. I'm kinda worried the markers can't read my handwriting because I rushed my last body paragraph because I panicked when I saw there was 10 minutes left. I'm also a bit worried that I didn't do a lot of assessments.

For section 3 part a, it said ideas, and/OR people, and I talked exclusively about people and it seemed to suit the needs of the question so I think its ok!
