Uni Queries. Need Answer

Hi Guys,

Just a couple of questions I need answering. So next year I'll be undertaking Year 12 hoping to get into the course I want in 2020 at uni. My question is the course I want to get into needs a pre requisite of a study score of at least 25 in English. Does this mean 25 Scaled or 25 Raw in English? My second question is what would happen if I do not get that score but meet the required ATAR to meet the course? Will I need to take a pathway or something to get into the course then?

Thanks

Pre-reqs are always stated with raw SSs, unless explicitly stated (which I have never encountered so far).

My second question is what would happen if I do not get that score but meet the required ATAR to meet the course?
Best bet: Do internal transfer, so apply for another (preferably similar) course to the one you actually wanted to do at your desired uni. In terms of options though: you have bridging courses or you could transfer between courses (internal) and/or unis (external). Bridging courses are generally used for scenarios like the one you described (i.e. missed a pre-req by a little), but the availability of these is something you'll have to research and ask around about as these are often few and far between. I explained this in a recent post, which I've linked over here (it'll apply regardless of NSW or VIC).
Will I need to take a pathway or something to get into the course then?
See previous question + answer. If you're intending on doing law/ med/ something needing more study, you can also study it via postgrad courses, after an eligible undergrad course.

Feel free to ask more questions, although you might find some of the relevant information you're looking for in the VTAC thread as well (both of which I am a mod for here on AN). VTAC is the body that'll help you transition between Year 12 and tertiary education, so you'll probably wind up familiar with that abbreviation sometime next year.
