Every second line?

Do you write on every second line?  Or just one line at a time?  I've heard pros and cons about both, for instance every second line is clear and easy to read but can show that you haven't thought out thinks properly.  What do you guys think?

I write one line at a time, if I don't do that I can't guesstimate at how many words I've done

I can only think of advantages really. I really don't think that it shows that 'you haven't thought out things properly'. Every writer needs room to edit - part of the writing process is editing itself, and you'll never be marked down for it. I've heard of cases of people having arrows mazing through their essay, and examiners have actually praised this because it shows an ability to critique and edit your own work for the better. The only real disadvantage is that because I wrote every second line, I actually had to waste time getting and filling out a second script book for my text response, but I also happen to have very big writing and I wrote a crap load so this probably won't happen to anyone else.

You guys are referring to the actual exam? Writing every second line? Sounds pretty neat to me :p

I would think it might look a little odd seeing it all spaced out like that, but in terms of correcting yourself without making it a huge mess (as you would if you didn't leave lines) then it definitely does sound promising.

Can you confirm this again, that for the exam, it is probably a better idea to write with spacing between the lines. Also, is it recommended for all the pieces (I don't see why not).

Thanks

Your examiners will love you!  :smitten:

No sensory overload from
hundreds of little black words filling each line. Plenty of room for clear, NEAT editing. Little chance of misinterpreting your point.Shows you understand the importance of EDITING.

EASY TO READ AND MARK!
