One spot left for VCE: Not knowing what to choose

Hi everyone,
I am a year 9 and currently in the process of considering my VCE subjects. So far, I have planned that I will choose English, Methods, Bio, Chem, Phys, leaving a spot left.
I thought about Psych, Spesh, Lit, or LOTE Vietnamese as I have a strong passion for Science.
I am starting VCE Bio early in year 10 and will have its exam completed in year 11. If I choose Vietnamese, I will also have it completed in year 11, leaving me with 4 VCE studies left in year 12. My counsellor said that would be very stress-relieving when I get to year 12.
However, I had a look through the VCE Vietnamese study desgin and didn't find it so interesting but my Viet teacher said I had the potential to succeed in it.
I wanna do a subject that interests me but also advantages me with my ATAR. What do you think I should do?

If you are good at Vietnamese, I would suggest you to continue that, but you should be sure that you would be able to bear the stress of completing two content heavy subjects a year earlier. However, seeing you have a strong passion for Science, I would also encourage Psychology because it's practically a science subject. BTW, doing both Bio, Chem and Phys will be strenuous and definitely not something I would recommend unless you really like them all. In regards to advantaging your ATAR, Vietnamese SL would scale nicely if you perform well.

Subject choices can be hard so it's great that you've already chosen five subjects! Here's my advice for you:
1. If you have a passion for English (or conversely, are not too great at it), choosing two English subjects can be really beneficial for your ATAR as I'm quite sure your highest score will find itself in your top four.
2. Psych is very content-heavy but you will have lots of free time in Year 12 - if you enjoy it, it could be a great "relaxing subject", one that you look forward to each day.
3. Choosing LOTE is a great ATAR boost and so useful in the future, I highly recommend having a language in your VCE subject list. It will also provide some variety and can therefore be a great way to meet other students who may be completing subjects that are not as science-heavy as yours.
4. Specialist Maths can be helpful if you're planning on pursuing science in the future. Otherwise, it can be a cool subject for exploring high-level maths for the last time (if you're not going to take courses on it in the future).
