Math Methods Exam 2 - rewriting functions for answers

Hey so, I was wondering if we're meant to rewrite the function in our answers.

Eg. the given function is f(x) = (330-x)^2

Is it alright if I just refer to it in my answer as f(x) or do I need to rewrite (330-x)^2 to gain full marks?

Yeah I was wondering this too. Especially for long integration questions, I was hoping we'd just be able to use f(x).
Or even for equating two graphs to find intersections, would f(x) = g(x) suffice?

You probably "technically" don't need to rewrite the whole equation. If you carefully show your steps and get the correct answer you should get full marks. I think at times not rewriting it may make your answer unclear which could lead to a loss of marks.

Personally I think it is good practice and notation to rewrite it when presenting your solution. Also answering in full sentences is something that assesors like (this can also reduce any ambiguity within your final answers).

Alright, thank you!

"If the functions have been defined at the start of the question, it is acceptable to use the function name, such as f(x), throughout the question rather than writing out the entire expression. This avoids transcription errors. This occurred in Question 3. Also, ensure the correct function name is used as applicable."
