PhD Duration (Science)

Hi,

If anyone is currently completing a PhD in Science at University of Melbourne, I was wondering if you may know about the changes that have been made to how long you are allowed to take to complete a PhD. I heard it is now 3 and a half years.

I'm aware that certain scholarships are available to complete a PhD (provided you meet the WAM requirements), but do those scholarships only apply if you complete your PhD on the full-time equivalent duration?

I'm planning to complete a PhD in mathematics and statistics. So any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much! :)
