Welcome to the forums! While I haven't watched it, I think The Reluctant Fundamentalist is a suitable choice for Heaney and the Worlds of Upheaval elective more broadly based on what I've read about it! I also made some suggestions in this thread a while back which you could take a look at! I would particularly recommend the Orwell's Why I Write since it can pair nicely with a poem like Digging from its exploration of the importance of literature during political and social unrest.
