I wanna do a bachelor of sci and do a doctor of optom and since u don’t need VCE chem I’m not doing it, so will I be behind if in uni?

If you otherwise meet the prereqs for a BSc without chem, you won't be in too much trouble. Postgrad degrees look at your undergrad units as prereqs, not your high school units. At least here at Monash, the introductory chem units (CHM1011 and CHM1022) assume that you haven't done chem in high school at all. If you take chem in high school, you'll find 1st year uni chem a breeze because the lecturers have to cater to students who didn't do it with huge amounts of content overlap with VCE.
