It is low because there isn't much demand for science at Monash. High achievers will be more likely to enrol in Science Scholars or Science Advanced (with Honours).

You can find information on the Monash handbook.

Yes, there is not a high demand from high achieving students to do Science (straight science, no double degree or advanced program) at Monash, that is why the ENTER required is low.

Should I do it? How is the course compared to Melbourne's? And how is doing a double degree with computer science?
I sort of want to do it and change it to a double degree with engineering... How does that work out?

Thanks for the info!

I agree, choosing a course based on the ENTER is not good.

The course is going to be very similar to that at UoM, but I think (correct me if I am wrong) that the normal Science stream at Monash might have some required units, whereas at UoM you are very free.

Doubling a BSc with BCS or BEng would be good, as there is lots of synergy between those subjects.

As for deciding what course is best for you, it all depends on what you want to do. What are you interested in studying/working as?

monash requires you to do two core units

a maths unit- sci1020, sta1010, mth1020, mth1055, mth1030 or mth1085.
and the science unit- sci2010.

and also for 1st year students theres a requirement to do at least three level one sequences  or one unit from each of the three groups (physical science, life science, earth science)

yeah, also the higher acheiving students who decide to do straight science, go to melbourne due to the 'guaranteed' graduate entry.

Also, Science (anyway), tends to accept a larger number of students then some more specialised courses. That usually brings the ENTER/ATAR lower.
