Changing Subjects Midyear (Year 11)

Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you are like me and are changing subjects midyear? i.e. going straight into a Unit 2.

Currently my plan of attack is to change:

Physics----> Legal (95% set)

PE-----> 20th Century History (Revs in Year 12) (Still deliberating)

Please share.

If youre moving into legal because you think youre guaranteed a high score then youve been mislead. I'd keep physics if I were you, unless youre really into politics and english and ROTE learning.

I did 20th century history. Cant say it was my favourite. But if youre genuinely interested in history (mind you I thought i was) moreso than you are into PE, then switch.

If youre not doing english language already then maybe you should pick that up. Gives you the option to continue either english and/or EL next year. It gets marked up aswell and IMO its the most interesting subject.

I dropped history...

Pick up EL before you pick up Legal.

I did a legal elective in year 10 last year, covered a lot of Legal 1+2.

I did pretty well and enjoyed it.

the physics course is pretty short (yes a tad dry) so give it some serious thought before dropping it.
2010- English, Methods (CAS), Physics, Specialist, Chem.
2011- Bachelor of Commerce/Aerospace Engineering - Monash

I'm considering changing out of History (planning to do revs) to Accounting Unit 2.
That way I try them both and choose between them in Year 12

Which history are you doing now?

Are the 1+2 and 3+4 courses linked in any way?

And what textbook do you guys use

I'm doing People and Power, no textbook. But my teacher recommended that doing units 1 & 2 helped form a basis for 3/4, it helps to improve your essay writing skills and how to analyze historical sources. My opinion is that you can 3/4 revs within them though, heaps of people at my school who are Year 11s are doing this year.
