What are all the formula's that you will be required to know to solve minimum and maximum problems?

Most, if not all, of these are given to you on the exam cheat sheet. But for a rule of thumb, the volume of any prism, such as a cylinder, is Base x Height. So for a cylinder, the Base is obviously the circle, which has area . The height is , so volume would be .

For pyramids, they're just 1/3 of the corresponding prism. For instance, the volume of a cone is .

Okay thankyou!, any tips on remembering spheres and surface area formulas or is it just a matter of memorising them?

Well using the steps brightsky has mentioned that is a logical way which would allow you to write out the volume/area of most shapes even if you forget them.
As you go through exams and such you will most likely remember them all.
and surface area formulas are quite simply the total area of all the faces of one shape which can be found fairly easily.

Oh yea i use this website for all the formulas just incase you might find it usefull

Thanks Man!

No problems! It seems most popular shapes used are  spheres and cones, especially with the related rates of change.
So it really wont take long before you know them and wont need to look up anything.

Know the main ones but usually they will have the formula on the formula sheet provided or they will give it to you in the question if it is a weird one.
