When you have a question structured along the lines of: "Mr X recently discovered unposted documents. Post them to the ledger", do you post the documents on date of transaction or date of discovery?

When you have a question structured along the lines of: "Mr X recently discovered unposted documents. Post them to the ledger", do you post the documents on date of transaction or date of discovery?

You have to post the documents on the date of the transaction. Obviously if asks to post in the General Ledger, you would post the totals at the end of the month.
