Unit three is 25% and unit for is 25%. But there are three SAC's in unit three and only two in unit 4. So the unit 4 SAC's are worth more than unit three.

Not really, maybe the way I worded it made it seem so. Each SAC in unit four is worth more: each one is a quarter of your entire SAC mark.

Why is unit 4 more important than unit 3?
I liked the novel we did in unit 3 and did fairly well in the essay, but now i have to do 1984 in unit 4(blegh) and it's worth more?

This VCAA stuff gets very confusing :D

Both units are worth the same amount. But there are fewer SAC's in unit 4, hence these specific SAC's are more important.

For example the unit 3 text essay you are referring to is worth 15% of your mark, whereas the unit 4 equivalent constitutes 25%.

Yep. At my school, there were 3-4 SACs in Unit 3 totalling 50 marks. Unit 4 has 2 SACs, worth 50 marks each.

Unit 3 is out of 100 marks.

Unit 4 is out of 100 marks.

The exam is out of 60 marks.
