SACs: GA 1&2

So I found out my SAC scores today and I have some questions.

For Unit 3 I got 90/100
For Unit 4 I got 100/100
First of all my cohort is weak... Really weak.......... Like super dooper weak (no one last year got over 40)
I'm rank 1 in the entire cohort as well

If I tank my exams and get a B+
Will my SAC's go down all the way to a B+ or around that or will they only go down a little bit

There are roughly 5 people behind me that could ace the exam
So if they do well do I keep my A+ A+ B+ or does it still scale down??

Thanks in advance

First of all good work on your scores! I don't see any reason why you can't get an A or A+ for your exam though... you write well.

But I think the exam is the clear indicator - a low exam score will bring down a high SAC score (if I remember correctly).

If you're on top of the cohort, then the study score you receive should correlate to your exam mark. If you perform really well, the sacs may have no effect on SS, or they may bring it down slightly by 1-2 SS points.

I heard a story about a girl doing VCE english in a school with a super-weak cohort. She knew the course back to front, and could write superlatively. She scored 30/30 on the external exam and received a SS of 49 (her cohort brought her down by 1 SS point).

In this sense, I don't think there should be an adverse effect on your mark if you perform well (unless you're aiming for 50).  :coolsmiley:

That's bullshit. if you're the top of the cohort and your exam marks are an outlier from the rest of the cohort, you shouldn't be affected by moderation. VCAA sucks.
