Neap 2010 Exam 1 Question 6

Okey, I can't even begin to visualise this. It's not making sense to me how a string of 4 metres can hold the object up from point O and at the same time, the object is being held 2 metres from O. Am I way off the mark? Help?

the object at one end of the string is 2m from O, the other end of the string is 6m from O

Okey. I see how it is. Looked at the solutions. What a terribly confusingly-worded question :/ VCAA better not be so illiterate as to throw something of a similar bad-wording caliber on the exam tomorrow..
