Rate my Language Analysis Piece.

Hello can someone please give me a rough idea from 1-10 or negative numbers what my language analysis would be. Btw there wasn't a date on it so I didn't include it and its around 808 words.

Sterilization, the use of preventing reproduction by cutting the right tube or through other means was made famous by Adolf Hitler and his sterilization of Jews, Blacks and the retardation during the World War 2. Now this controversial issue is once again made public with the proposal of sterilizing drugs addicts and child abusers prompting wide spread media coverage and protesters on both sides to appear. One article in particular produced by Andrew Bolt for the Herald Sun “Snip abuse in the bud” strongly supports the sterilization stating that the bonuses by governments encourages druggies to produce more unwanted babies  which suffer due to their parents life actions. Through the deposition of cleverly written paragraph and techniques eludes readers to support and help voice his opinion and promote his cause.

Sarcasm the tone weaved throughout the article adds the appropriate mode for his target audience of parents and adults. Bolt who highlights through his sub-heading “What is most truly insane..... if they do?” plays on the readers mind  making them realising by instigating the obvious choice by arousing a obvious dumb statement. Bolt intends his target audience to not only feel they are being ripped off with their tax money being spent on fuelling drugs addicts when it could be used for other well needed parts. However it also invokes sympathy for the children being born one after another for the sole purpose of money. Nerveless teenagers, elderly and the other readers will feel the same as the target audience as they can personally relate, as they were children once before.

Anecdotes the use of real world experiences were cleaver used by Bolt to reinforce his contention. Using the 12 year old child recently who was sold for “$100...... Condom” invokes sympathy from readers which then warps to a sense of outrage for these people. By realising the outrages actions done by the mother spending money on renovations to “buy drugs” makes clear to the target audience of the absolute arrogance and heartless attitude drugs addicts have to human souls, doing anything to earn money for a quick hit. Furthermore by continuing to use further anecdotes Bolt emphasises the seriousness of the current situation. Stating the “14-year-old girl… hot meal” engages parents and to think of their own child; they will feel a sickened feeling that children who should be enjoying their years, are forced to do such things to protect their siblings when it’s the mother job to do. Finally stating another child only couple of months positive for “crack, PCP and heroin” and the horrific side effects it present due to the parents behaviour Bolt hopes to alert readers how a life just born is ruined due to the parents and their search for quick money to fuel their drug addiction and immediate action must be taken to prevent any more causalities.

Continuing with inclusive language Bolt tries to play with the reader’s hip-pocket especially during the post Global Finical Crises. Clearly stating that “$300 not to have a child…. $5283 “baby bonus” readers who have started to conserve their money due to the loss of jobs and increase in prices are immediately confronted with the thought of our government carelessly sploshing money on people who will only spend it on drugs when they can spend it on infrastructure, Medicare and schooling to actually improve our country. This further adds a sting to the readers no matter what age as they’ve been affected by the GFC and prompt mass protest to take action by sterilization of these people to stop wastage and leakage of money for people who have no future.

Finally to try and bring as much support as Bolt can summon the use of a visual age adds a detrimental support for the article. By playing on the folk lore the Stork whose bring a child the artist has changed it to a stork who bring a sterilization kit to the parents. The immediate effects relates to the parents who intake drugs and instead of countless babies it should be a sterilization kit. This further plays on the readers mind that this type of procedure will be benefiting our society with children not thrown to foster home whilst suffering under illness of the parents drug binge.
The controversial issue of drug abusing parents and whether to force sterilization for them is a issue that has faced the public recently promoting conflict on both side. Andrew Bolt a writer for the Herald Sun states in his article “Snip abuse in the bud” sarcastically address his readers for the sterilization. Using various techniques such as anecdotes, inclusive language but also an image eludes readers to agree with his point of contention. Nerveless it is ultimately the readers themselves to gauge the effectiveness and their final stance on this issue.
