Volume of a triangular prism question! HELP!

is the formula to find a pyramid 1/3 * A *h

eg. question from tssm 2010 i have sides to A B and C and i found the area using herrons formula
the height is given as 15cm
so dont i use 1/3 * the herron answer * 15cm

but TSSM answers didn't multiply the answer by 1/3 ?

Don't need to. It's a prism. The cross-section stays the same, so the volume is (Area of Cross Section) * (Height).

But isnt it changing? which one is it?

what does a prism mean exactly is it like a cylinder where its circle and constanly circle all the way to the top? and not a cone sorta thing  :-\

left one is a prism (triangular), right one is a pyramid (triangular)
