Approach to the exam

How are you guys going to approach the exam?

During reading time, I would pick out my essay topic and read the spoken text then the written text more thoroughly.

When time starts I will make a quick essay plan, then start on the written section (as the text is fresh in my mind)
Then I will do the spoken followed by the essay (gonna leave ~1hr for the essay cos it's my weak point)

This allows time for ideas and examples to accumulate for the essay.
Then when it's time to do the essay, I will look over the plan and add to it then straight off into the essay.

-Check Essay Topics.  Choose one.  Get ideas flowing.
-Read through questions, to see what I need to look for
-Read transcripts/texts, and then look for specifics which relate to the questions.

I might start the essay and write the introduction first. That way I will have my 3 paragraph topics down when I return to it. Then I just reword the phrases I put in my intro and use them as topic sentences. Then its just fill in the gaps with whatever I know.

After Ive written my intro ill skip back to the short answer bit and try to roll it pretty quick. Probably skipping back and forth between SA questions so i dont find myself spending 5 minutes doing nothing but thinking about one particular question. Then hopefully ill have an hour left to nail my essay.

Ill probably read the short answer questions before I read the texts too. Then as im reading I can remember the metalanguage ive gotta look for.

Choosing the essay topic, and formulating the ideas is the hurdle!
I will spend more time on the essay THINKING, then anything...and so I will
defo spend approx. 10 minutes there in reading time, so I dont waste it
in the writing time.
