Distance Education - Literature

Hello,

I'll be starting distance education for Literature next year, and am wondering what kind of work would generally be prescribed? Such as, writing comprehensions, essays to be handed in or is it just filling in questions per chapter?

Thanks a lot!

a) In Cold Blood
b) Persepolis (Film)
c) Water (2005) Film
d) Atonement (Book)
e) Catcher in the Rye
f) Reluctant Fundamentalist

The list of Literature texts for 2012 are located in that document.

Going off what I can see in that document:
a) Yes - List B, "Other Literature"
b) Yes - List A, "Plays, film or television mini-series" Will not be on the exam as it is part of List A (but is still part of the lit course)
c) Yes - List A, "Plays, film or television mini-series" Will not be on the exam as it is part of List A
d) Yes - List B, "Novels"
e) No - I can't find it in the list
f) No, not for literature - It's listed for VCE English 2012 (List 1, Novels).

edit: only list B will appear on the exam.

So, when I looked at the 2012 text list and compared it to the examinable questions for 2010, it seemed to exclude a lot of texts from the 2012.
Does that mean that the 2010 text list was different to the 2012 list? (Implying that the examinable books per year is different, indicating that the texts presented in the 2012 text list WILL be on the exam for 2012)

Sorry for questions, but my paranoia on what occured with that school and their exam fisaco has scared me stiff ;)

Yeah, the study design states that the text list is published annually.

I got those documents from here:
http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/studies/literature/literatureindex.html
http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/studies/english/index.html

From the exam advice thing on this page - it states how the text list relates to the exam: http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/studies/literature/exams.html
Quote
It is important to note that in the examination students must write on two different kinds of texts studied during the year. The kinds of texts are published in the table of contents at the start of the examination book and match the List B text list published annually in the VCAA Bulletin. Note that there is no provision for students to write on texts from List A in the end-of-year examination. Students who write on two texts from the same category will receive a score of zero for one of the answers.

None of the films are examinable - I don't know which list it is that you have to look at, but it's the one which contains Atonement, Hamlet, etc. (there'll be a list of different forms, like novel, play, etc., but they'll all be under one list).  Can confirm that Atonement is an exam text, and none of the others you listed are except possibly In Cold Blood (not 100% sure about that one).

Oops sorry, I incorrectly assumed that both lists were examinable - I had only checked to see if the books were listed in the study design. Only List B is examinable.

I will edit my previous post now.
