No experience with UMEP or specialist personally but I have heard (reading on this forum) that enhancement programs have a lighter workload than a normal 3/4 subject. I would also assume that UMEP and specialist would be fairly complementary to one another.
Also keep in mind that, by doing 3 maths, 1 will be counted in your bottom 2 for your ATAR.

Hope this helps

Further is an easy 4.0+ to your aggregate anyway(assuming its gonna be your 3rd maths) either way its all good...

if you're good enough to do UMEP, definitely take it. If you're good enough to do uni maths then you'll go insane with boredom doing further. Uni maths was a really good decision, one of the best i've made i reckon. It's pretty theoretical and gets a bit conceptually challenging at times, but it's stimulating and will make spech look easy in comparison. There's not much direct content overlap however, however it does get your brain thinking at a higher level which IS helpful with maths in general. I think it's great opportunity and if you can, definitely do it, as for workload, i did pretty little during the year and just crammed it in after i finished my final VCE exam, so it's not impossible to do well, i won't lie though that week and a half wasn't pretty haha, but essentially if you're capable (and your teacher seem to think you are) then definitely do it!

there are a four assignments (if i remember correctly) throughout the year generally take 1/2 hours, not too bad if you're been half listening in class, the class generally just teams up and does it together (i..e what you'll be doing at uni :p) out teacher turned one of these assignment into a class test (i.e. we did the assignment in one hour in class in test condition) but this was just our class (at MGGS) that did that afaik

At my school, we had an assignment every couple of weeks, I can't remember how many in total, but more than 4. I think assessment varies from school to school.

Uni subjects are generally a lot more casual too -- not as stressful IMO.

Also, keep in mind you can credit your uni subject to save yourself a subject or two in uni, whereas you can't do that for further (obviously). So I would definitely do uni maths.

See attached:

(they didn't exactly run it like this at my school this year, but it's a list of topics, though they probably don't mean all that much without having studied it...)
