I realise this is a bit of a delayed reaction, but after much discussion with enwiabe I feel that establishing such a policy is necessary. In light of the coming expansion of ATARNotes and (hopefully) growth in member numbers, outward presentation of the leadership team will only become more and more important.
My main concern is that the moderation and administration team appear as *gasp horror* a
team. This means that we should, at the very least, appear to concur on all issues that may arise. Members will stop looking up to us if there is frequent in-fighting.
This means that from now on, when in public, no moderator may disagree with another moderator or administrator on any non-definite issue. Of course, you may correct each other when one does a maths problem wrong or quotes syllabi incorrectly etc.
I particularly expect you all to agree with admins
at all times. If you privately disagree with something, you may bring it up in this forum, but you may not discuss it with normal members or make any dissenting posts in public threads.
Off the top of my head, as an example, the behaviour of
shinny and
Eriny in
this thread is
unacceptable.
Further to that, for marketing and appearance purposes, I will continue to publicly espouse the official policy that moderators are allowed to have their own opinions. Privately, please be advised that that is no longer the case.
From now on, acceptance of this clause will be a condition of moderatorship.
Thanks for your understanding.
