What's this for? I'm assuming for uni..? Can you email the uni and ask them what this is referring to or something?

I've never been distributed a DEECD number or anything =/. Only been aware of my VCAA number...

It's actually for VCE, I'm enrolling to DECV. They are on holiday until the 24th but I was hoping to mail my application early to get a head start.

Oh! No don't worry - I think I know exactly what you are referring to. Is this under the heading of "DEECD approval number"? I just enrolled for distance ed this yr for englang. My school filled out the DEECD number. Is this school based or entirely through decv? If it is school based, you send the application to your school as they have to sign off on it and attain an approval from the department of education, and as I said they'll fill it in, nothing for you to worry about. If you're doing it entirely through decv, I suspect you're filling in the wrong form, as the part-time/full-time DECV enrollment form for 10-12 doesn't appear to have a DEECD number as a requirement. I could have missed it though.

Thanks for your reply. DECV is my home school, I'm doing three subjects with them (Eng, Phil, Psych) and one other with a local school, which I won't even be attending - my grandmother is the teacher  :)

Anyway, the form is titled Years 10-12 Full time/ Part time students and it asks me somewhere in the 31 pages if DECV is home school, so I am quite certain it isn't the wrong form.

It says "Supply your 2011 approval number from DEECD" OR attach copy of approval letter from DEECD

Oh sorry, my bad. I was looking purely at the VCE application on pgs 93 onwards. Alrighty, I've had a good look at the DECV enrollment steps and this, from my understanding is the process you need to undertake to get an DEECD number.

1. Depending on what category you're applying for, you need to gather your supportive documentation (whether this be a principal's referral, a medical report or something else) as well as the parent/caregiver's form and either the 1. School referral, 2. practitioner form or 3. agency form (you fill them out here: http://www.distance.vic.edu.au/enrol/enrforms.htm#A) to the Distance Education Regional Approval Officer via mail or fax it to DECV with your region's number. Information about regions' addresses are situated in the link above under 'instructions'

2. After that the regional person will notify you of the outcome of your application by phone or by mail. They will supply you with an application number to place on your form.

3. Complete the enrollment form to send it.

Sounds like a horribly exhaustive process, I am so sorry it isn't easier =/. It was easy for me as I am a school-based student. This sounds rather irritating because I know you want to get a head start, but start with the samples for week 1 on the website here: http://www.distance.vic.edu.au/subschools/ss1112.htm#subjects (you're probably aware of this, but I thought i'd provide the link just in case.) Also, I undertook psych and received a 50 so if you want any online help or anything you're more than welcome to message me and I can teach you concepts over skype or something! I know it's a new study design, but I am quite familiar with it because I have taught myself it and am preparing myself for uni psych etc. So I'll try my best! :)

Hope this helps!

Thanks! Why does this form have to be so long  :D I nearly completed it though.

Good.. no, amazing job on 50 for psych! I have skype, I will pm you, thanks again :)

I finally manged to find this: http://www.distance.vic.edu.au/enrol/pdf/11_10-12_Handbook_and_Forms.pdf

In the enrollment form it asked for things related to pages 50+.. and I didn't get what it was referring to  :idiot2:
Got a few questions out of the way with that ^^
