Well they expire 28th of Feb, but I think they start from January 1st.

I actually find myki pretty good. It's quite easy to use, you just touch on and off and you don't have to deal with cranky bus drivers.
Also when the myki thing is not working on a bus you get a free ride.

I have a Myki card. Never used it though :P
Although if they get rid of it is a waste of money since of how much was spend on developing it.
