Help on summer holiday studies/tutoring.

Hey guys just want some advice on tutoring. (i hope this is the right thread :S)

Right now I'm in Year 11 transitioning into Year 12.

Year 12 Subjects:
English Language.
Psychology.
Mathematical Methods (CAS)
Specialist Mathematics.
Physics.

Currently I have a very good Methods and Specialist private tutor (I spend my lesson predominantly on Specialist work) , and I have a decent private English Language tutor. Though I feel that these lessons aren't enough.

My plan for this holidays like many others is to complete my 3/4 Specialist course, albeit to a superficial extent and Unit 3 of Physics. Though many would not like this idea I plan to ignore Methods as majority of it is covered in Specialist. (Mind you: THIS IS JUST IN THE HOLIDAYS, IMA STUDY DURING SCHOOL :D )

I was thinking instead I might speed-learn the methods course by going to lectures or classes such as TSFX/NEAP, maybe Derrick Ha.

First off does completing the courses sound like a good idea?

If I do go down the road of 'speed-learning' methods, which lectures are more beneficial?

A question that I was also pondering was:
"Should I attend lectures or classes for Specialist instead of Methods? and really FURTHER my knowledge in Spesh along with my weekly private tuition or try and keep an even playing field across my maths?"

What are your study plans this holidays? Anyone else who has done similar subjects to me and could offer valuable advice? (Eg. Go through psych book and make summary notes).

Thanks a lot guys/girls, would appreciate any input.
Kevin.

The reason why you would focus on English is because it will be in your top 4 subjects which have a full impact on your ATAR.

Well in Year 11, I was top in English Language (A+ in all my SACS), likewise with methods. Psychology was also relatively easy. However, i wasnt as great in physics.

Sorta why i really want to focus hcore on spesh and do some phys in the holidays.

Try to balance out all your subjects. Don't sacrifice one subject for another - it may be of use later on, if you don't do as well in a subject as you'd hope - you have something to fall back on.

learn the metalanguage and subsystems, if you're extra keen, read ahead in AOS1. Living Lingo is pretty good.
