Calculating grades

Does anyone know how your overall grade is calculated for each unit? Is it simply summing up all the totals from your assesments or is it more complex than that?

Each assessment has a particular weighting. It's pretty much percentage score times weighting, then it's all summed up. You can make a nice excel spreadsheet using that formula for all of your subjects :)
Religion and Society (38), IT - Software Development (45) English (35), Chemistry (49), Methods CAS (48), Specialist Maths (50)
ENTER: 99.15

Check your unit outline for weighings.

There'll be a page that says something like:

Assign 1       15%
Assign 2       20%
Mid-sem       20%
Exam           45%

I would do anything for my exams to be worth less than 80%.

does it have to specifically say if a unit has a hurdle requirement? Cause I only know for sure that one of mine does, but 2 other subjects have exams worth 50% and 60% of the final grade, yet say nothing about needing to pass, this means it is pretty easy to pass with decent grades through the semester..

Yeah.  Can I sit it?  :P

EDIT:  On second thoughts, no.  I don't want any more exams.  3 exams worth 80% are killing me.

I have 60% for Micro, 70% for Maths, 70% for Business Stats, and 70% for computing.

That said it comes at a bit of a relief that I can afford to drop quite a lot of marks on most of them (not computing) and still get a high grade :D
