TI-nspire or TI-89

My school is using the TI-89 Titanium, and i have been using it since year 9. Do you think that it is worth upgrading to the Ti-nspire and learn how to use it these school holidays, or should i just use the TI-89 next year?
I also think that upgrading to the ti-nspire because all of the worked calculator examples are now using the ti-nspire.

I <3 TI-89. If you used ti for your 1/2s, and your school uses it, stick with it. It's a damn good calculator.

I got that new black TI calculator on Friday. Oh boy its sexy, it takes time to work it out. But once you figure it out you will love it.

I had a choice between the two when I did spesh last year (having using the TI-84 Plus in 3/4 methods the year before).  I tried both and hated the nspire compared to the TI-89 because the TI-89 is so much more similar to the TI-84 plus.  I found nspire a bit faster with calculations but also quite unwieldy with graphing and difficult to actually type (which kind of offset the marginally faster processing (which really only applied to a few equations in any case...often really little difference)).

While those who like nspire will probably argue otherwise, the main reason that I think I preferred TI-89 was just the familiarity...I wouldn't waste time "upgrading"...it'll probably just slow you down.

I have both. TI-nspire does more and has a better interface but TI-89 has programming and games. I would go with the Nspire though

I learnt ti-89 and nspire simultaneously. It depends which one you personally prefer or are used to. In the end, I stuck to the ti-89. You have to see for yourself.

ti-89 ftw. mainly because i can write functions for the ti-89, which was so awesome for stuff in spesh etc. moreover, the ti-89 has an easier way to navigate and manage your tasks compared to the n-spire.
