Impressive.

How long would that 2100 words be at your pace of speech?

Not too sure yet.. I'd take a guess at 8 minutes.

I'll say it's a very fluent and engaging speech. Just wondering, is that your preffered style of persuasion?

It would have been good to have photos of babies in your PowerPoint and at the end a personal view along the lines of...'I know I wouldn't pick the gender of my child'

But then again, I like emotional appeal...even if it's a little

Agreed, emotional appeal is fantastic! One of the stronger techniques IMO.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

Interesting... is the Dr. scenario a personal choice or something other kids at your school are doing? I haven't seen anyone else take that approach, it should be refreshing if noone else in the class is doing it. Fluent, conversational and persuasive... I like it.

I'm the only one taking a persona/scenario.. did the same thing for my 3&4 oral last year on smacking kids, and it worked so yeah I'm doing it again. :P Thanks funkyducky!
