perhaps how the language changes depending on the individual who is speaking?
tone, accent, word choice, all those things and others can vary from person to person.
That's correct, it's the language variation according to the user.
Edit: 200th post!
In general, binders answer pertains to language variation according to user. Personal variation is far more specific, regarding the chances in a persons speech relating to individual personal issues. Things such as damage to any of the speakers speech organs/body parts, or personal traumas/experiences.

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”
