Dropping out of a DECV Subject

I just emailed my teacher then about seeing if i was able to drop the subject or not, but he wont email back until tomorrow :P

So, my question is.

I wish to drop my distance ed subject (Software Development.) This will be my 7th subject, which I just discovered won't count towards my atar (:'( ), and i feel by dropping this subject, i can utilize my time on my primary 6 subjects, instead of this subject.

So, is it possible to still drop subjects, even though we're half way into the year?

Thanks if you respond :)

Don't think so.
Our cut-off date for dropping art was May 12th or something... now I'm stuck with it :(
Of course it all depends what your teacher says, but if he says no then just neglect it anyway and you should still get a study score of at least 10 :P

I've already been neglecting it :P I always keep forgetting to hand my work in until the last minute, but I'm still managing to do extremely good in the subject for some reason (I think i got a B or an A on my first SAC lol)

Thanks for your reply, and here's to hoping i can actually drop it :D

Then you should be fine even if you don't drop it. DECV teachers don't seem to care if you actually do your work...  ;D

Wouldn't it only not count towards your ATAR if your SS for the subject was lower than the other subjects you're doing?

Or does it not count regardless?

I heard back from my teacher, he said I can drop out, it just means I'll get an N for that subject.
According to my careers teacher, only your top 6 subjects will count (Which i know i'm definately going to be getting higher in science/maths, then IT.)
