Biomed isn't really that different from science.
You can take more or less equivalent subjects in a science degree as you can in biomed.
In science you would take "Chemistry" in a biomed degree you would take "Chemistry for Biomedicine". It takes out a couple of the things that aren't relevant to biomed but most of the content is 99% the same. I'd like to stress this again, almost all the content is more or less the same, so i wouldn't stress. Same deal with biology, the kids in a normal science degree might learn about plants a little more or something whereas the biomed kids don't but again, its more or less the same. I wouldn't worry.
My one big peeve about the biomed course is, there are a lot of core subjects. They make you take a lot of things and most uni's make you take some kind of math/stats along with a couple other subjects. In science, there aren't really many "core" requirements, well, in similar nature to biomed anyway. You don't have to take that stats or physics for biomed subject you don't want to in science, whereas in biomed you probably would. For this reason, i'd choose science. Just slightly more flexible.
Again, they're more or less the same though.
If you can get into biomed, cool. Do that. If you can't or you don't want to, science will pretty much serve you just as well.
