Hi,

Does anybody know where best to look for lab work experience, besides uni? Setting up equipment, etc; whatever really. :)

Cheers

These guys had a job open for Lab stuff not long ago, so they might be able to accommodate for work experience too. Focus is on coal.

Have you heard of UoM's Bio21?

Applications are open yearly but unfortunately at this time of the year, you'll have to wait until next year which isn't of much help.  But try looking along Bio21's lines.

They encouraged maths & stats students to apply earlier on in the year.

Try CSL?

Just call all the labs and ask if they need a hand for the holidays, a lot will take you to do boring work

Cheers, everyone. Yeah, my girlfriend (it's for her - I'm an engie :P) tried bio21 but didn't get in. I'll get her to give CSL a shot, too. Anybody know any other companies that might be relevant to call? Any names you can throw at me would be great: it's not my field so I don't know any of them. :P

Also have a look at WEHI, Burnett and Ludwig institutes. I know these institutes all take students, have a look at their websites.
