that kid is a joke! but then again the media was pretty harsh and the way they portray him.

It's not really his fault, it's the media's fault.

Except for the fact that he fuels the media attention even further by showing no remorse for his actions and basically demonstrating a mentality  typical of someone who can't get enough attention.

Well, the media has made the decision that it believes that the typical Australian TV watcher wants to hear more about him. It is ultimately the media's fault. Corey Delaney didn't hold a gun to the broadcasters and get them to put him on TV. I am slightly annoyed at the disposal of the ideals of individual responsibility since this Corey dilemma. First he was given a $20k fine for damages that did not entirely belong to him (i.e.: scapegoat), and then now you're saying that it's his fault that he's on TV?
