Hehe, I remember my Coles group interview... Back in 2007. It was so boring. But basically, they gather you up into a very nice venue (mine was at Gardenhurst Reception), and they go through the name tags, round table discussion, then they put you into a room, and ask you about your applications, when you can start etc...

Then, they called me within a week, I got trained at Coles in Airport West, the first day of training was basically playing games on the register (there was this one question which took an hour to answer... It wasn't long, I just couldn't answer it :))

Then they put you on registers (I don't know what area you are in, but I was in registers), and slave you away. :(

I quit within 3 weeks.

But don't let this discourage you, your Coles is probably excellent, with great facilities! My manager was a big meanie :)

Oh, lol, then just take everything in your stride, be nice to the manager (make sure they like you ;)), and there should be no reason why you can't secure a place there!

don't they get you to do role-playing activities? if so, can you give me a sample practical situation with a problem and a solution? :D

mine at safeway was like.

"theres been a spill in an isle, there are 4 people at each register, someone needs to know about a new product, and its time for you to go on your break"
what order do you put these things in and why?

and basically, you should just always do safety first, apologise to customers for the wait, ask someone who is wondering if they could come back and wait 5 minutes until your told by ur supervisor to have you break

basically, they just wanna no how u go in a group situation, ie, working as a team, not an individual. piece of piss.
smile lots. dress nice. and be friendly. thats all u need pretty much
we're nearly over. oh my god
english, literature, francais, methods and psych
hoping for 85+

Hey, are you from Airport West? Do you know Jason from there, also with an Italian background?

Yeah, I worked at Coles and Bi-lo at Airport West. I recall a Jason... I think I was on registers with him once. Funny kid really :) But the manager... Always used to talk to me about the fact that 'Coles is not a place to make a fashion statement, we're here to run a business blah blah blah' because I wore tight pants. :( I never really went back after that.
