VN Yearbook planningness (thread 1) - Questions to ask each VNer
« on: December 23, 2008, 07:29:58 pm »
This is a thread firstly for ideas and such. Since the 'yearbook' will be a whole site thing, I think it's really important to have as many opinions involved as possible. So, whether you're a mod or a noob, your opinion does count.

Originally I thought that it should be that anyone with over an arbitrary amount of posts should be given the opportunity to be included - but I don't want to isolate the lurkers or anything. Instead, anyone who wants to be a part should be a part of the thing.

With this in mind, I was thinking that we should have profiles of each member who chooses to participate. So, I wanted ideas on what questions everyone thinks would be good to ask. They can be important or frivolous, funny or serious, whatever. Eventually I'd like to get a list of about 20 questions or so. Note: not all questions will have to be answered, each respondent will be able to choose what information about themselves they want to include.

So, ideas on questions? (please?)

And of course, if you'd like to help out at any stage of this yearbook-thing process, PM me.

Ohhh... I like this idea very much! Nice thinking, Eriny. ;)

I was thinking about the questions, we could separate them into categories. Like, maybe one section for love/relationships, another for general interests and another for being random.

And also, this may go somewhere else down the track, but if anyone has really good Photoshop skills, they can collect photos of each VNer and put their heads on funny bodies. It may just be crazy enough; it would be like a whole school photo!

Hehe, I'd love to help, Eriny. :P

Thanks. I think the catagories idea would make a good structure. I suppose we'd have to decide how many questions we'd want people to be able to answer. I only picked 20 because I think it's a good idea to make it concise enough for it to be interesting, rather than kind of one word responses that the regular online surveys yield and so it doesn't take too long to answer as well. But this is up for debate too!

Okay, I've got the 20 questions here (please don't reply to them in this thread, we will be making a gmail drive very soon, to which you can send all of your answers...)

1. Who was the first VNer you have met?
2. Why did you decide to join VN?
3. How did you join VN?
4. What impact has VN had on your life?
5. If you could swap lives with any VNer, who and why?
6. If you were stuck on an island with one other VNer, who would it be?
7. Which VNer have you secretly been aligned with?
8. Where do you think VN will be 5 years from now?
9. Will your children be future VN stars?
10. If you were starving, which VNer would most likely give you food?
11. Who is the greediest VNer?
12. If VN were a country, what would it most resemble and why?
13. If you had 3 wishes, and you were only allowed 1 each, which other 2 VNers would you like to give those wishes to?
14. What have you learned from VN?
15. What song would best describe VN?
16. What is VN most likely to win an award for in the Olympics?
17. What movie best describes VN?
18. If you had one wish, what would it be?
19. Did somebody recommend you to VN?
20. Who is the most important VNer to you?

EDIT: Discuss if you like these questions, and suggest on ways we can improve on them...

Wait, this thread is to discuss the 20 questions, not to tell people to answer them. Sorry if I was unclear. The final list of questions will come up once I think everyone has been given a good opportunity to make suggestions.

Oh, I didn't know... Disregard everything I just said, then. XD (But they are good for a yearbook, Erin... Aren't they? :S)

Yeah, I think they are. The only thing is that I think it would be good to ask a little bit about peoples personal life as well as their life on VN.

If people post their answers it might affect how other respond. Also, it'd be good if when people read the yearbook, they'll be reading it mostly for the first time. It's more interesting that way.

Yay! Now we just need to wait for a few more people's opinions then the questions can be finalised. :D
