I'm glad you asked this question, as it's a fairly broad one.

Each revolution will have varying ideas, yet some of the main ones would include:
The desire for liberty and prosperity
The desire for economic stability
The desire to escape tyranny (particularly relevant to the American and French Revolutions)
Popular sovereignty
Equality
No taxation without representation (America)
Fraternity (France)
Actual representation (America)
Constitutionalism
Destruction of monarchy
John Locke's natural rights
The ideas which derived from the Enligtenment figures (Montesquieu, John Locke, Rousseau, Voltaire)

You prompted me to post an ideas resource in another thread. It relates to the American and French Revolutions, as these are the revolutions I studied.
