Methods is making me depressed ... is hope lost?

We just had a SAC for MM today, and the thing is we got notes and calc BUT my notes were lacking so I didn't get to do the questions I KNEW how to do... because I forgot the formula etc.. In short form, I bombed out completely.

I want to get a 30 in methods, but reading around SAC's count alot so does it mean I'm pretty much screwed? I've gotten a C+ and a B for my two unit 3 sacs, and I'm not so sure about this one.. I feel as if I got a 40-50%.. :( I just left so many questions blank and it frustrates me because I knew how to do them, just didn't revise enough to not rely on notes which my notes didn't even have. Fml. (Also, does anyone know traditionally how many SACs there are for unit 3?) <- hopefully it was only worth 10% because the first two were 10 and 40%.. and yeah how much are U3 and 4 sacs worth of the total score?

Anyway... is a 30+ gone now with crappy sacs? Any advice on what I would I need on the exams in order to help reach this.. and what should I be doing in order to achieve this from a survivors perspective? Thanks

what i know is..
firstly, unit 4 sacs worth less than unit 3 sacs, so you're in for some luck here.
secondly, looking at your scenario, your most recent sac will most definitely scale up towards your other sacs as it counted as an "aberration"- this is what my teacher told me so I hope she's right.
thirdly, you still have your exams to go! :) so go A+ them all :D
don't lose hope !

Hopefully she's right, for my sake!
What if you ace the exam - do your sacs get brought to match the better grade? Plus the school too, we have alot of smart 'methods' people soo yeah. lol

I am not a professional at predicting VCE related things but as to what Ive heard having harder SAC's at school benefit you. As you are more prepared to do harder questions VCAA questions feel a little bit more light weighted which sometimes means you can do much better in the exams, you doing better in exams than the in school assesments will raise those marks.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I'm not sure if SACs are differently weighted in unit 3 and 4, I thought it was the same.

You should be okay, just do heaps of practice exams, get your foundation concepts up to scratch whilst you still have time, and you'll have enough to get a 30.

What are you struggling with particularly?
vce: english, methods, spesh, chemistry, physics, geography.

Usually they weighted more individually in unit 4 as there are less SACs for the same percentage cut of the total SAC mark, I think

I struggle with tough application questions - but the intermediate calculus ones I find not too bad. also, working fast enough too and sitting and looking at something for too long desperately trying to work it out... And last year, I failed at probability to I'm pretty dreading that section of the course.. (is it normal for people to find that the hardest bit of the course? O_O) basically the more high-end application questions that you'd find in the back section of exams always make me struggle.  I've always been the average methods student but do you think that theres a plan out there that can basically help me get capable enough in a fixed time to score around a B+ to A for my exams? I want to be ambitious but idk if it's too late :( my teacher suggests doing the A+ exams first..

oh i forgot to tell you, this sounds a bit unusual and I'm not sure if such miracles happen in methods but just to lift a bit of hope..i heard from a friend that her sister got a 47 in busman and she averaged a C+ in her sacs! i really don't know how that happened...she must have full marked the exam or something mMMmmm

Possibly the cohort was amazingly strong that it boosted her marks, also the fact that she simply aced the exam.

EDIT: Also just dont go believing people too ;p
